Con una fachada monumental de líneas cortadas y volúmenes, la Iglesia de la Encarnación se eleva sobre el resto de edificios de Olvera.
La iglesia es una construcción neoclásica, mandada construir por los Duques de Osuna a finales del siglo XVIII y terminada en 1843, tras el derribo en 1822 de la antigua iglesia del mismo nombre.
La parte superior de la fachada se cierra con el reloj. Este es un elemento característico del ayuntamiento , pero no lo tiene. Por ello, en la fachada de la iglesia se construyó un reloj en 1902. Este elemento fue costeado por el ayuntamiento.
El altar mayor está dedicado al patrón de Olvera, San José.
