Le col du Lukmanier relie les cantons des Grisons (Disentis/Mustér) et du Tessin (Biasca). Le col est situé à 1.914 m d'altitude et sa longueur est de 65 km. Le col marque la séparation entre la zone linguistique romanche et italienne. Le Passo del Lucomagno dérive du latin "Lucus magnus", qui signifie grande forêt. Le parc naturel du col du Lukmanier est caractérisé par des alpages, des marais et des forêts de conifères avec des mélèzes et des pins.
