Cette randonnée offre un regard prometteur sur les traces du livre de Mark Twain « Climbing the Riffelberg ». Quatre sentiers de randonnée mènent du Riffelberg au Rotenboden et au Gornergrat. Le sentier le plus beau et le plus long mène vers l’ouest à Dristelen, d’où le sentier continue vers Furi et le jardin des glaciers. La vue imprenable sur le rétrécissement du glacier Gorner restera dans votre mémoire pendant de nombreuses années à venir. La route continue vers l’est au-dessus du ruisseau glaciaire et jusqu’au pied du Riffelhorn et des deux lacs intacts du Riffel.
