La stazione di Lienz è la stazione più importante dell'Alto Adige. Rappresenta una fermata significativa della Drautalbahn. La stazione esiste dal 1871 ed è stata ricostruita tra il 1947 e il 1950 dopo gravi danni subiti nel 1944/45.
La stazione di Lienz è stata costruita nel 1871 secondo i progetti di Wilhelm von Flattich. Poiché la stazione di Lienz era la stazione principale della connessione tra Villach e Franzensfeste, la stazione a Lienz è stata realizzata come edificio di stazione di Classe I.
