Un begijnhof, una chiesa gotica del Brabante costruita nel XIV secolo e una antica cripta romana: solo come centro religioso il comune trova un certo legame urbano a partire dall'XI secolo, soprattutto sotto la protezione di San Guido, che è presente nello stemma del comune. Nella stessa zona sono state ritrovate anche tracce di Erasmus. Quel filosofo umanista arrivò ad Anderlecht nel XVI secolo, e l'Erasmushuis (aperto ai visitatori) ne è la prova migliore. Nel ventre di Anderlecht si trova ben poco verde. Con un paio di colpi di pedale ti ritrovi già nella parte più urbana del nostro percorso. Solo quando torni al canale, la maggiore influenza sugli edifici in questa zona, rivedi più verde.
