La stazione di Puurs è stata inaugurata il 28 luglio 1870 a Puurs insieme al tratto ferroviario Mechelen-Bornem dalla società Mechelen-Terneuzen sulla linea ferroviaria 54.
Il 22 luglio 1880 è stata collegata alla stazione di Dendermonde tramite la linea ferroviaria 52 e l'8 agosto 1881 sulla stessa linea è stata collegata alla stazione di Boom. Nel 1948 la stazione è stata acquisita dalla NMBS.
