L'Eckartsburg, chiamata anche Eckartsberga, è un castello alto parzialmente conservato e si trova su un crinale montuoso del paesaggio finlandese, più precisamente sul bordo meridionale dei rilievi del gruppo montuoso Finne, sopra la cittadina di Eckartsberga nel Burgenlandkreis, nel parco naturale Saale-Unstrut-Triasland, vicino al confine statale della Sassonia-Anhalt con la Turingia. Il castello è gestito da un ristorante e si trova lungo la strada della Romanica.
Il castello è composto da una parte centrale e da un'area anteriore; si entra attraverso un arco d'ingresso lungo 8,2 metri. L'arco ha una nicchia come abitazione per il custode della porta, che è stata utilizzata anche come prigione. La parte principale del castello è accessibile tramite un portone lungo 10,4 metri e largo 2,8 metri con mura spesse tre metri.
