La congregazione wesleiana di Cropredy fu fondata intorno al 1822, ma all'inizio degli anni '80 del 1800 aveva superato la sua prima cappella.
Una nuova cappella fu pianificata e le pietre di fondazione furono posate il lunedì di Pasqua, 18 aprile 1881. L'architetto era Edward Pincher di West Bromwich e la cappella, con una capacità di 200 posti a sedere, fu completata entro agosto dello stesso anno. L'impresario era Thomas Cherry di Cropredy, supervisionato da Caleb Mander di Banbury. Il servizio di apertura si tenne il 26 agosto 1881, quando il sermone fu predicato dal Rev. F.J. Sharr di Londra.
