All’incrocio in cui la strada fa una lieve curva, appare molto vicino l’ingombrante edificio della centrale elettrica IJssel, chiamata anche Centrale Harculo. In passato, la centrale si trovava in città, ma dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale è stata trasferita qui. La centrale IJssel fornisce elettricità a Zwolle e dintorni fin dal 1914. Inizialmente, la centrale aveva cinque camini. Nel 2005 la centrale è stata ristrutturata affinché possa continuare a funzionare a lungo.
