Nij Beets è un comune nel comune di Opsterland, nella provincia olandese di Frisia. Si trova a circa 12 chilometri a sud-ovest di Drachten. Nel 2021, il villaggio contava 1.670 abitanti. Attraverso il villaggio scorre il Polderhoofdkanaal. Nij Beets è stato fondato nel 1863 da lavoratori del torba. Questi arrivarono intorno al 1860 a Nij Beets per scavare la torba dai proprietari del terreno e trasformarla in torba. Ufficialmente, queste persone si erano trasferite a Beets.
