La Cappella di Caterina risale all'undicesimo/dodicesimo secolo ed è la chiesetta a navata più antica dei Paesi Bassi nel suo stato originale. La Cappella di Caterina è stata la chiesa di Lemiers fino al 1901.
Intorno al 1975 ci furono piani per ripristinare una funzione ecclesiastica alla cappella. Hans Truijen dipinse quindi l'intero interno nel 1978, in uno stile espressionista.
