Fort van Brasschaat
Het Fort van Brasschaat, gebouwd tussen 1909 en 1912, is nog steeds militair domein en daardoor niet toegankelijk. Het werd tot voor kort gebruikt als oefenterrein, maar is nu verlaten en een belangrijk verblijf voor vleermuizen.
Het fort maakt deel uit van een Europese Speciale Beschermingszone en ligt in een bosrijk gebied, ideaal voor wandelingen langs het wandelknooppunt 7 van het netwerk 'Kempense Heide'. In de jaren 1970 probeerde het Belgische leger het fort deels op te blazen, maar alleen de linkervleugel werd verwoest.
Het fort is bereikbaar via de Bredabaan (N1) en de Sionskloosterlaan.
