Description

Kasteel Groeningen werd eeuwenlang bewoond door de heren van Kontich die de macht hadden over het gebied. Vanaf 1830 kwam het kasteel in bezit van de familie Della Faille die er nu nog steeds woont. Rond het kasteel wordt een kring van water gevoed door de Mandoerse beek. Deze waterloop ontspringt in de nabije gemeente Reet. De dreven, het park en een aantal gebouwen in de omgeving zijn beschermd als dorpsgezicht. Het kasteel is in privébezit. Wandel zeker eens langs de mooie dreven en vang een glimp van dit mysterieuze landgoed.
