Luchthaven Borkum is de verkeersluchthaven van de stad en het oostfriese Waddeneiland Borkum.
De luchthaven werd in 1927 gebouwd. In eerste instantie diende hij voor de civiele luchtvaart. Zo landde bijvoorbeeld een Nederlandse luchtvaartmaatschappij hier tussen op de route Amsterdam–Stockholm. De luchthaven ligt op het eiland in het gebied Ostland. Ostland werd sinds het Keizerrijk in aanzienlijke mate militair gebruikt door de marine. Met de herbewapening van de nationaalsocialistische staat werd de luchthaven overgenomen door de Luftwaffe van de Wehrmacht, die een luchtmachtbasiscommando instelde. Van juni tot september 1941 was hier de 1./JG 52 gestationeerd, van februari tot maart 1942 de 1./JG 1. Ook waren hier opleidingsgroepen gevestigd.
