Het begin van de promontorium is bedekt met het kunstmatige zand van Playa de Ostende. Het heeft toegangstrappen en een uitkijkpunt.
Tijdens de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw had de familie Estebanot, waaronder een ingenieur en een werknemer van de rechtbank, een huis nabij de Punta de los Cuervos, in het gebied dat bekend staat als "Los Hierros". Maar sommige mensen begonnen het "Punta Estebanot" te noemen, verwijzend naar deze plaats, in plaats van de oorspronkelijke naam. De naam "Punta Estebanot" of "Punta de Estebanot" is echter nooit officieel verklaard.
