Soechoemi of Soechoem is de hoofdstad van de de facto onafhankelijke republiek Abchazië, die internationaal wordt gezien als een autonome republiek van Georgië. De stad kent een lange geschiedenis met vele historische gebeurtenissen. De stad raakte zwaar beschadigd tijdens de Georgisch-Abchazisch Oorlog in het begin van de jaren 90 van de 20e eeuw.
De naam is afgeleid van de Russische transliteratie van de officiële naam voor de stad. De Abchazen noemen de stad in het Russisch ook wel Soechoem , de spelwijze die werd aangehouden in het Russische Rijk .
