Op de zogenoemde Kanounenhiwwel in de stad Luxemburg staat het Nationaal Monument „Luxemburgse Solidariteit“. Het is opgericht ter nagedachtenis aan de doden van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en ter herinnering aan het verzet en de solidariteit van het Luxemburgse volk tegen de Duitse bezetting. De geplaveide binnenplaats symboliseert de gevangenissen, concentratiekampen en kazernes. Een eenvoudige onbewerkte steen in de kapel staat symbool voor de slachtoffers van de oorlog. Voor het monument brandt een eeuwig vuur.
