De Sint-Catharinakerk of Kruisherenkerk is vernoemd naar Sint Catharina van Alexandrië. In de voorpui staat een beeltenis van haar. Ook het kruisteken van de Kruisheren is hier en daar in het gebouw aanwezig.
Als gevolg van de capitulatie van 's-Hertogenbosch na het Beleg van 's-Hertogenbosch werd de kerk protestants. De katholieke schilderingen van Pieter Jozef Verhagen werden in schuilkerken opgeslagen. Doordat er in 's-Hertogenbosch weinig protestanten waren, kreeg de kerk een andere bestemming. Zo werd de kerk onder andere gebruikt als paardenstal.
Na het decreet van Napoleon Bonaparte werd de kerk weer teruggeven aan de katholieken. Het gebouw was echter erg beschadigd en voor een gedeelte vervallen.
