La torre de vigilància de 31 metres d'alçada és una rèplica de la torre de torre amb la qual André Dumont va extreure el primer carbó del sòl l'any 1901. La torre de guaita és de lliure accés fins a una alçada de 25 metres. Un cop arribeu al cim, podeu escanejar l'horitzó fins als terrils d'Eisden, Winterslag i Waterschei i teniu una bonica vista sobre el Parc Nacional Hoge Kempen.
Fa centenars de milers d'anys , la Maas es trobava una mica més a l'oest i va arribar on es troba aquesta torre.
