Vor 4000 Jahren empfängt La Bure seine ersten Einwohner. Aber vor allem im 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr. wurde La Bure als verschanztes Lager organisiert, das hinter Mauern Schutz fand. Es wurden Hütten und Kultstätten errichtet, und handwerkliche Tätigkeiten ergänzten die Landwirtschaft und Weidewirtschaft. Die Ausgrabungen, die von 1964 bis 1986 durchgeführt wurden, haben gezeigt, was das Interesse und den Reichtum des Lagers ausmacht, das die zweitgrößte archäologische Stätte des Departements Vosges ist. Die Überreste werden im Pierre-Noël-Museum aufbewahrt.
