Die Vecht, manchmal auch als Utrechtse Vecht bezeichnet, ist ein niederländischer Fluss, der durch die Provinzen Utrecht und Nordholland fließt. Die Vecht entstand um 600 v.Chr. als Teil des Rheindeltas und der Oberläufe des Oer-IJ. Die Vecht beginnt an der Weerdsluis in der Stadt Utrecht und mündet etwa 40 Kilometer weiter bei Muiden in das IJmeer. Unterwegs fließt die Vecht unter anderem an den Orten Maarssen, Breukelen, Loenen und Weesp vorbei.
Im Mittelalter war die Vecht eine sehr wichtige Schifffahrtsverbindung zwischen dem, was heute das IJsselmeer ist, und dem Rhein, die unter anderem Zugang nach Deutschland bot.
Im 17. Jahrhundert, dem Goldenen Zeitalter, ließen erfolgreiche Amsterdamer Händler entlang der Vecht Landsitze errichten oder umbauen.
Heute ist die Vecht ein beliebter Fluss für die Freizeitboote.
