This cemetery is named after a nearby farmhouse that was referred to by British units as ‘Cement House’. Cement House Cemetery is an example of a concentration cemetery. For a long time, it was also the only Commonwealth cemetery whose register remained open for the interment of new graves. All British casualties found in recent years on the industrial site along the canal have been and are being buried here.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is responsible for the maintenance of this cemetery - www.cwgc.org
