La Rauhe Ebrach est un affluent de 47,3 km de long, situé à l'ouest et à gauche de la Regnitz, dans le nord de la Bavière, dans les districts inférieurs de Schweinfurt et de Haßberge, puis dans le district supérieur de Bamberg.
Elle prend sa source dans la forêt de Wustvieler, traverse une enclave de la commune de Michelau dans le Steigerwald, puis s'écoule dans une direction est-sud-est à est à travers la commune de Rauhenebrach et la commune de Schönbrunn dans le Steigerwald, où elle touche également la zone non municipale de Lindach, à travers le marché de Burgebrach et les communes de Frensdorf et Pettstadt, où elle atteint finalement la Regnitz.
