L'ancien couvent des jésuites est un ensemble conventuel situé au Kloosterweg 34-36 à Valkenburg, en plus du couvent Saint-Joseph construit en 1984. Le couvent a été construit de 1893 à 1895 par la Société de Jésus, qui avait été expulsée d'Allemagne en raison de la Kulturkampf. L'architecte était H.J. Hürth. C'est ici que s'est établi le collège Ignace pour les jésuites allemands. En 1911, une aile et une bibliothèque ont été ajoutées. Un imposant complexe en forme de E s'est formé, avec au centre une chapelle néogothique dotée d'un clocher. Les jésuites ont rassemblé de nombreux livres précieux et ont publié les Commentaires sur la Sainte Écriture.
