Elmpter Wald er et skovområde vest for den tyske Elmpt op til den tysk-nederlandske grænse. Den vestlige kant er dannet af en stejl skrænt fra mellemniveauet til højderne i Maas-dalen. Her stiger landskabet fra omkring 30 meter til over 50 meter. Naturreservatet Elmpter Schwalmbruch, med dalen af Swalm, afgrænser skoven mod nord. Mod syd forbindes skovområdet med Nationalpark De Meinweg. Mod vest og syd ligger det 250 ha store naturområde Lüsekamp und Boschbeektal op ad den tysk-nederlandske grænse.
Elmpter Wald skæres af mange grusveje, og er derfor populært blandt vandrere, mountainbikere og gruscyklister.
