The Diocesan and Regional Museum of Solsona was created in 1896, under the Diocese of Solsona, to preserve the heritage of the diocese, by Bishop Ramón Riu i Cabanes, although his desire for the works taken by Bishop Josep Morgades to the Episcopal Museum of Vich to be returned was not fulfilled, but he did succeed in safeguarding many works of art from the churches of the bishopric.
