The sea cave of Kavirio is created in flysch, not in limestone as most caves. The flysch formation consists of harder layers of sandstone and softer layers of silt stone. The sea carved away the softer silt stone under the roof of the cave in hard and resistant sandstone which protects the cave of falling in.
