La promenade est liée à l’or. L’itinéraire suit l’Amblève qui traverse l’ancien massif ardennais. Le long des berges, nous voyons parfois des traces d’une exploitation précoce des prospecteurs. Cette promenade passe également par « Wolfsbuch » ou la forêt du loup qui s’étend au-delà des Cantons de l’Est. Même si nous n’avons pas entendu ses hurlements dans les Ardennes depuis 100 ans, l’étymologie de la forêt nous rappelle la présence du loup.
