Il a eu 7 enfants illégitimes et certaines sources affirment qu'il a un jour tenté de violer l'une des dames de la reine Victoria lors de sa visite au château de Windsor. Henry John Temple, 3e vicomte Palmerston, a vécu de 1784 à 1865.
