Il castello di Heinsberg è la rovina di un castello a motte situato nella città di Heinsberg, nel distretto della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia. L'area conosciuta come Burg- e Kirchberg è stata ampliata nel XVI secolo in una fortezza bastionata.
L'area Burgberg/Kirchberg è una delle più grandi motte conservate della Renania. Un promontorio naturale che si estende nel Vallone di Rur è stato suddiviso attraverso un doppio scavo, cioè in Burgberg e Kirchberg. In questo processo, la fine del promontorio è stata artificialmente elevata fino a circa 10 metri, formando l'attuale Burgberg. Il Kirchberg, che oggi funge da parte anteriore del castello, è stato il sito in cui, dopo le costruzioni preliminari, è stata eretta nel XV secolo la chiesa gotica di St. Gangolf. La storia edilizia precisa del castello non è nota. Indagini archeologiche nel Burgberg hanno rivelato strati sovrapposti di insediamenti e macerie risalenti dall'XI al XVI secolo.
