Frauwalde è uno dei pochi luoghi nel sud del distretto di Oberspreewald-Lausitz non situato nella Lusazia ma nello Schraden. A est del paese si trovano i luoghi dell'ufficio di Ortrand Großkmehlen a sud-est e Lindenau, così come direttamente a est la città di Ortrand con la frazione di Burkersdorf. A ovest e a nord-ovest, Frauwalde confina con i comuni del distretto di Elbe-Elster, Großthiemig e il comune di Schraden. A sud di Frauendorf si trova il Land della Sassonia.
