Gebouwd in 1912 als één van de 18 forten die deel uitmaakten van de buitengordel van de Stelling van Antwerpen. Het Fort met zijn grachten is onderdeel van het natuurgebied rond het Klein Schietveld. Het fort is niet te bezoeken en dient als winterhotel voor 550 vleermuizen.
