Het animatiecentrum beschrijft de hele geschiedenis van het zoute water. Van het ontstaan enkele miljoenen jaren geleden tot de industriële exploitatie, via het ontstaan van Salies-de-Béarn en de ontwikkeling van de kuurindustrie. De audiotour wordt onderbroken door interactieve terminals, video's en vitrines om ieders nieuwsgierigheid te bevredigen.
Tegenwoordig wordt hier jaarlijks ongeveer 2.000 ton zout geproduceerd.
Het steenzout uit Salies-de-Béarn heeft sinds 2016 het label Beschermde Geografische Aanduiding en is het zout dat gebruikt wordt in de BGA Bayonne Ham.
Het amusementscentrum van de zoutfabriek van Salies-de-Béarn wordt aangevuld met een esplanade die een vogelperspectief biedt op de hele productiesite. Dit uitkijkpunt is gratis toegankelijk voor het publiek (tijdens de openingsuren van het museumcentrum) en is uitgerust met informatiepanelen.
