Links vom Kanal der Stella Artois-Turm (AB Inbev), in der Mitte des Fotos die soziale Hochbau von Sint-Maartensdal.
Die Priorat von Sint-Maarten wurde 1408 von Willem van Sichem gegründet, anschließend kurzzeitig von der Universität als Pädagogik genutzt. 1477 schloss sich die Gemeinschaft den regulären Kanonikern an. Das Anwesen umfasste ein Kloster, Klosterflügel und eine gotische Kirche. Das Priorat wurde 1784 aufgehoben und danach als Kaserne und Militärkrankenhaus genutzt. 1803 wurde die Kirche und ein Teil des Klosterkomplexes abgerissen. Was übrig blieb, wurde eine Kavalleriekaserne, die ihrerseits 1960 abgerissen wurde und Platz für sozialen Wohnungsbau machte.
