Medebach liegt am Fuße des Rothaargebirges. Medebach ist eine Hansestadt. Hansestädte sind Mitglieder der Hanse, die ursprünglich eine Kooperationsorganisation deutscher Städte rund um die Ostsee war. Später schlossen sich auch Städte aus anderen Gebieten an. Die Hansestädte suchten den Kontakt zu kleineren Dörfern und Städten im Umland wie Medebach für den Handel. Medebach ist eine Stadt mit ca. 8000 Einwohnern und einer Reihe von schönen Fachwerkschmuckstücken.
