La Kaiserstraße es una vía principal de tráfico en Wuppertal y un tramo de aproximadamente 1.5 kilómetros de la carretera federal 228. En el distrito de Vohwinkel, va de oeste, donde comienza en la intersección Kaiserplatz. Continúa como la B 228 como Vohwinkeler Straße. Al norte, desde Kaiserplatz, la Bahnstraße se convierte en la carretera federal 224 en dirección a la estación de tren de Vohwinkel, y al sur, la Gräfrather Straße, también conocida como B 224. Al este, termina en la Eugen-Langen-Straße. La B 228 luego cruza como la carretera Sonnborner Ufer el cruce de la autopista Sonnborner Kreuz.
