Frauwalde es parte del municipio de Großkmehlen en el distrito de Oberspreewald-Lausitz en el estado alemán de Brandeburgo. Pertenece a la oficina de Ortrand con sede en Ortrand.
Frauwalde se encuentra como uno de los pocos lugares en el sur del distrito de Oberspreewald-Lausitz no en Lusacia, sino en Schraden. Al este del lugar se encuentran localidades de la oficina de Ortrand, Großkmehlen al sureste y Lindenau, así como directamente al este la ciudad de Ortrand con el barrio de Burkersdorf. Al oeste y noroeste, Frauwalde limita con los municipios del distrito de Elbe-Elster, Großthiemig y la comunidad de Schraden. Al sur de Frauendorf se encuentra el estado de Sajonia.
