El primer servicio evangélico se celebró en Forbach con el permiso del alcalde Barrabino en 1841. La parroquia protestante fue creada oficialmente en 1869 por Napoleón III. En ese momento, había 1.250 protestantes en la ciudad y era necesaria la construcción de un nuevo lugar de culto. En 1889, el arquitecto Wahn de Metz elaboró los planos y la consagración de la iglesia protestante neogótica tuvo lugar el 1 de noviembre de 1892.
