Le jardin, également appelé Villa Garibaldi, a été créé à partir de 1863 , au milieu de la Piazza Marina.
Le jardin a un périmètre quadrangulaire dont les entrées correspondent aux routes principales et est clôturé par une clôture en fonte .
Parmi les nombreuses plantes exotiques qui s'y trouvent, le ficus Magnoloides est certainement la principale attraction .
Il appartient à l'espèce Ficus macrophylla, tout comme un spécimen du jardin botanique de Palerme, dont il est le symbole.
Il y a des sculptures dans la villa, notamment celles de Giuseppe Garibaldi, Rosolino Pilo, Giovanni Corrao, Raffaele De Benedetto, Luigi Tukory et Nicola Bălcescu.
Il y a aussi un étang avec une fontaine autour duquel nagent poissons et tortues.
Si vous y allez un dimanche matin , vous tomberez sur le marché aux puces hebdomadaire qui a lieu sur la Piazza Marina et ses environs.
