Het zuidoostelijk deel van de gemeente, rond de plaats Hachy, behoort tot het Luxemburgse taalgebied.
De gemeente omvat tien plaatsen: Anlier, Habay-la-Neuve , Habay-la-Vieille, Hachy, Harinsart, Houdemont, Marbehan, Nantimont, Orsainfaing en Rulles. Van deze plaatsen ligt alleen Anlier geheel in de Ardennen. De rest van de gemeente ligt in de streek de Gaume. De gemeentehoofdplaats Habay-la-Neuve ligt op de grens. Het riviertje de Rulles, dat ook door Habay-la-Neuve loopt wordt gezien als de grens tussen de twee streken. Bij Habay-la-Vieille ligt Mageroy, een Gallo-Romeinse villa die bewoond was tussen de eerste en vierde eeuw van onze jaartelling.
