Grundlagt i 1242 af Alix de Rosoit, hospitalet Notre-Dame-à-la-Rose, drevet af et samfund af brødre og søstre under Augustiner-reglen, var bestemt til at modtage de fattige, pilgrimmene og de syge.
Bygningerne, i renæssancestil og arrangeret omkring en gotisk kloster, huser i dag et museum, der både illustrerer livet i det religiøse samfund og de materielle, spirituelle og medicinske pleje (historie og udvikling af apoteket, medicin og hospitalsforhold...) som dette samfund gav de syge fra 1242 til 1980. Besøgende kan også opdage gården, haverne, kirkegården og ishuset.
Med støtte fra europæiske fonde afsluttes en omfattende restaurering i 2011-2012.
