Oprindeligt var dette hus i lang tid en landbrugsejendom. Efter købet af Willem Hendrik de Beaufort i 1807 blev det ombygget til et herresæde. Tårnet stammer fra 1903. I den anden halvdel af det 20. århundrede var der et hotel i bygningen. Terrassen ved den smukke sø mod øst var på det tidspunkt kendt som den smukkeste terrasse i Holland. Siden 2001 har huset været privat ejet. Både hus og have er ikke tilgængelige.
