Rækken af huse i svinget ved Vecht mellem Loenen og Vreeland kaldes Glashut. Navnet minder om glasfabrikken, der stod her i slutningen af det 19. århundrede, ved herregården Oostervecht. Her blev der lavet flasker til bryggerier og destillerier i Amsterdam og omegn. Glashut består af huse, der blev bygget specielt til fabriksarbejderne, en stor luksus på den tid! Da arbejderne ofte kom fra Tyskland, blev navnet 'Glashutte' brugt, som betyder glasovn. Omkring 1970 blev husene delvist sammenført og restaureret.
