Die Sint-Walburgakerk in Veurne entstand aus einer Grafenkapelle und wurde zunächst zu einer romanischen Kirche umgebaut, die Unserer Lieben Frau geweiht ist. Wahrscheinlich im 10. Jahrhundert erhielt die Kirche die Reliquien der Heiligen Walburga, wodurch der Name um 1100 in Sint-Walburgakerk geändert wurde. Die Kirche hatte ein Kapitel mit dreißig Kanonikern. Zwischen dem 13. und 14. Jahrhundert wurde die Kirche durch ein Feuer zerstört und im frühgotischen Stil wieder aufgebaut. Zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde die Kirche mit Seitenschiffen und einem kurzen Schiff nach Plänen des Architekten Van Ascche aus Gent fertiggestellt. Im Sommer finden auf der Orgel Orgelkonzerte statt.
