Im 13. Jahrhundert stand hier ein Schloss, das als Landsitz für die Äbte der Gentser Sint-Baafs-Abtei diente. Der tschechische Fürstbischof Ferdinand von Lobkowitz fügte Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts Pferdeställe, zwei Orangerien und eine teure Sammlung exotischer Pflanzen hinzu. Charles Vuylsteke richtete um 1870 das klassizistische Schloss als Gartenbaubetrieb ein und gab damit den Startschuss für den Azaleen- und Begonienanbau in Lochristi. Das Schloss und der Park sind nur in Gruppen zu besichtigen.
