Die Festungsanlage von Le Villard wurde ab dem 12. Jahrhundert von den Bischöfen von Mende errichtet. Es handelt sich um eine Verteidigungsanlage, die zum Schutz der Burg von Chanac errichtet wurde.
Die Überreste des Wachturms stammen aus dem Mittelalter, das massive Gebäude mit den Kreuzstockfenstern jedoch aus dem 16.
Die romanische Kirche wurde in der Gotik wiederaufgebaut und ist mit Wandmalereien verziert.
