Winchester ist eine Stadt im Süden Englands mit ca. 40.000 Einwohnern. Sie ist der Verwaltungssitz der Grafschaft Hampshire und des Distrikts City of Winchester, der um einiges größer ist als die Stadt selbst. Winchester liegt am westlichen Ende der South Downs am idyllischen Fluss Itchen und an der Eisenbahnstrecke, die von London nach Weymouth im Südwesten Englands führt.
