Airolo es un municipio del cantón de Ticino en Suiza.
El municipio se encuentra en la parte más occidental del Valle Leventina. Además de la capital Airolo, el municipio incluye los pueblos de Valle, Madrano, Brugnasco, Fontana, Nante y los centros deshabitados de Albinasca y Bedrina.
Airolo se sitúa en la entrada sur del importante túnel de Gotardo. Como resultado, la línea de tren Basilea-Chiasso y la autopista A2 pasan por aquí. También es el punto de partida de la carretera que conduce hacia Andermatt en el cantón de Uri, a través del paso de Gotardo de 2108 metros de altura. Al norte de la ciudad se abre el deshabitado Valle Canaria. En invierno, se puede esquiar y hacer esquí de fondo en las pistas del Pizzo Mezzogiorno (2503 m), Airolo cuenta con 30 kilómetros de pistas. Durante la temporada de verano, el lugar atrae a muchos montañeros.
