Schirgiswalde es un distrito de la ciudad de Schirgiswalde-Kirschau en el distrito de Bautzen, en el sureste del estado libre de Sajonia. Se encuentra en la región montañosa de Lausitz, a orillas del Spree.
Schirgiswalde está situado a unos 12 km al sur de la gran ciudad de Bautzen y a 5 km al norte de la frontera checa en el sureste del distrito. Numerosas montañas rodean la ciudad. La montaña más destacada son las piedras de Kälber.
