Il Vorderburg è un castello nella città di Schlitz nel distretto di Vogelsberg in Assia centrale e fa parte dei cinque castelli di Schlitz: oltre al Vorderburg, ci sono l'Hinterburg con il Hinterturm e l'Ottoburg, che insieme alle mura della città costituivano la fortificazione medievale della città, insieme alla Schachtenburg e al castello di Hallenburg situato un po' più all'esterno.
Con il castello abbandonato di Niederschlitz e la rovina del Seeburg, ci sono ben sette castelli in e nei dintorni della città di Schlitz.
